Explore the power of nonfiction illustration—art that informs, reveals, and deepens understanding. This course begins with a visual history of editorial illustration in American art and literature, then dives into how analytical thinking shapes compelling visual narratives. Topics may include physics, archaeology, history, and cartography. Depending on student interest, the class may evolve into hands-on sketching or a roundtable discussion of contemporary examples. Ideal for those curious about art’s role in storytelling, especially in nonfiction children’s literature. No sr waivers.
